On This Date in My Photo History Oct, 21, 2009: Amazing Sunset Over Zakim Bridge
by markadmin Posted: Thursday, 10/21/2010It really is hard to believe that I snapped this photo seven years ago today. The photograph, shot from Charlestown’s Chelsea Street, really resonated with weather lovers and architecture aficionados alike. The storm was part of a line of heavy thunderstorms moving in from Southern Middlesex County. It seemed to fizzle when it reached me, probably due to the influence of the relatively cold ocean water temperatures. I set up a tripod and positioned myself so that I could get the most flattering angle of the bridge. And then I waited. I always get a bit nervous during these storms as one tends to be a vulnerable target next to a large metal tripod. This photograph made the front of the Boston Herald the next day. Shot with a Canon camera and a 70-200mm F2.8 lens.
