Busy Boston spot news Saturday.

I photographed the aftermath of a fatal fire in Dorchester, and then quickly left there and responded to a call about a car in the water near the JFK Library/UMASS Boston campus. A woman living in the large Dorchester apartment building perished in the early morning fire, and the man involved in the car-in-water incident, apparently drove himself to his untimely death. I always try to highlight the positives, i.e a rescue attempt, when it comes to covering these events, but sadly, there were none.

Memorable, tragic moments from my year in Boston photos, 2014.

From an apartment building fire in Lowell that killed 7, to a Back Bay brownstone that killed two brave firefighters, the tragic moments from my 2014 were plentiful. A Revere tornado in the summer is still causing pain to the  homeless victims. A sunrise shines off of windows on Drydock Ave. There were also happy outcomes, like Sylvie, the Southie Husky who ended up stuck in ice off Castle Island and who was rescued by Boston firefighter Sean Coyle. Many of these photographs were taken during my 6:30am shift for the Boston Herald. There are also some aviation photos here, my passionate pastime. Thanks for viewing and being a friend. Please check out my new website.

Two Boston firefighters die in Back Bay blaze. My photos.

A very sad day. Here are some scenes that I witnessed today. May firefighters Edward Walsh and Michael Kennedy rest in peace. Great job by their fellow firefighters to try and rescue them.
My statement regarding the photo of neighbor Tom Brady watching the fire from rooftop.

Here are two of my photos from the scene and a link to more photos at my Herald photo gallery. Of note please see the bottom photo and the fire escape where a Boston firefighter carried a victim down 3 flights.

3 rescued, one dead, one critical in 2-alarm fire at 64 Gove Street in East Boston just before 3am this morning. Here, a man who lived in the building is transported to an ambulance.
